Anger—
swells within,
from whence it comes,
to me unknown.
Rising storms,
foam covered shores,
crashing, leaving debris.

Shine through, love.

Bitterness—
turns my warm heart — cold,
placed on the shelf,
collects dust, molding,
I look upon, scolding,
“Open damn you, Open.”

Shine through, love.

Fear—
is the puppeteer,
swaying, dangling, teasing,
my feet to the ground,
keeps me running in place,
no matter the pace,
I set to run — away.

Shine through, love.

Anxiety—
builds my defenses,
creates the barriers,
and invisible fences,
that keeps you out,
and me within,
false safety.

Shine through, love.

Shame—
lowers brown eyes,
buries it’s head,
in clouds and sand,
lets fear and anxiety,
become the legs,
on which I stand.

Shine through, love.

Identity—
the holy grail,
tired, relentless quest,
foolishly pursued,
producing great unrest,
searching for I,
blinded to the greater — entity.

Shine through, love.

Courage—
possess the brave,
whom recognize themselves,
not as Master, but slave,
to anger, fear, and shame,
yet show the strength,
to release condemning blame.

Shine through, love.

Resilience—
own the defiant,
whom endure the punctures
anxiety and bitterness wield,
letting the wounds spill,
unconcerned whether healed,
bleeding out, defying with — words.

Shine through, love.
Please love — shine through.
